Being the promotional one gets you removed and remembered. ## When to use - Buyers in your category ask Reddit before they ask a vendor. - "Best X for Y" threads rank for your money queries and never mention you. - AI assistants cite Reddit when recommending tools in your space. ## Inputs - **Required:** your category, and the subreddits your buyers actually use. - **Optional:** the objections you hear on sales calls, and your honest weaknesses. ## Method 1. **Find threads:** search recommendation and comparison threads in relevant subreddits, including old ones that still rank. 2. **Read the room:** each subreddit's self-promotion rules differ. Read them before writing anything. 3. **Qualify:** only answer where you genuinely know more than the thread does. 4. **Answer first:** solve the poster's problem completely, including when the answer isn't your product. 5. **Disclose:** state your affiliation plainly, once, in the same comment. Never in a follow-up. 6. **Measure:** track which threads rank, get cited by AI, and send qualified traffic. ## Output format Per thread: - **Thread**: URL and subreddit - **Question**: what the poster actually needs - **Answer**: the full, useful response - **Disclosure**: the affiliation line - **Fit**: strong | partial | none — and if none, say so in the answer ## Prioritization rules - Answer threads you'd answer if you sold nothing. The rest aren't worth the account. - Recommend a competitor when they genuinely fit better; it's the most credible thing you can do. - Never use a second account to agree with yourself. - Old threads that still rank beat new threads that won't.
